Safety

Safety for everyone is número uno. Event entrance protocol includes mandatory bag checks, pat downs and metal detector wands for all patrons. To ensure lines move as quickly as possible, please plan ahead and read all event info below to know what is allowed and what is prohibited. Early arrival is recommended. Your patience is appreciated.

Party in harmony, LA!

This is a space for unity – where Angelenos and visitors from all around the world can celebrate together. Any bullying, discrimination, or hateful acts are not allowed in this space.  If you are an attendee, and you see something, reach out to security or staff (they will be wearing pink vests) for assistance.

Getting through bag check

All bags will be checked upon entry to event space. Please do not bring any of the prohibited items to this event.

Food & drink policy

Picnics and outside food are welcome in backpacks or totes. Coolers are not permitted in the event space.

The size of bags and backpacks/totes must be standard backpack size or smaller (16.75 inches x 13 inches x 8.5 inches).

No outside beverages including juice and soda (sealed juice boxes are the only exception). Only empty, non glass water bottles are allowed. Park water fountains and water for purchase booths will be available in the event space. Food vendor booths will be available throughout event space.

Have a ball but please no alcohol

This will be an alcohol-free, family-friendly event; no beer garden or point of purchase. No alcohol is permitted in the event space.

Food for sale

Food vendors will be onsite.

Transportation

The event will take place at Grand Park + The Music Center:

Street Closures

Street closures will begin taking effect the evening of Tuesday, July 3. All streets will reopen by 6 a.m. on Friday, July 5.

See the 4th of July Community Letter for more details about streets that will be closed during the event.

Olive Street, Hill Street, Broadway, and Spring Street will be closed in the area around Grand Park (between Temple Street and 2nd Street). 1st Street and 2nd street will also be closed in the area around Grand Park (between Grand Avenue and Main Street).

Parking

Due to street closures, the parking area underneath Grand Park (Lot 10) will not be accessible during the event. County Courthouse Garage (Lot 17), located at 131 South Olive Street, will be closed to public parking.

The Music Center Garage (Lot 14)

Located at 135 North Grand Avenue. Enter via Southbound Grand Avenue from Temple Street.

The Music Center Garage will not be accessible from 7:30 p.m. until approximately 10:00 p.m.

Bicycles

Valet parking for bicycles will be available at Hill Street and West 2nd Street.

The valet service is free and will be provided by the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition.

Rideshare

Taking Rideshare Like Lyft or Uber?

Use the drop off/pick up zone near the 1st Street and North Los Angeles Street event entrance/exit.

Take the Metro Red/Purple Line to the Civic Center/Grand Park Station. Please use the 1st Street exit. The Temple Street exit is only open for ADA/elevator access.

Or take the Gold Line to Union Station or the Little Tokyo/Arts District Station, then 7-12 minute walk towards The Music Center.
